Every morning during SunFest, two of our priestesses and priests will awaken the Divine spark that resides within the sacred image of Isis. It is a basic purification and consecration and an acknowledgment that the Goddess is with us in each Beautiful Day. We’ll learn the song together when next we meet. In the meantime, here is the brief ritual:

Priest/ess of Unveiling and Priest/ess of the Morning enter temple and cross their hands on their chests, bowing to the veiled image of Isis. Priest/ess of Unveiling lights charcoal and prepares incense. Priest/ess of the Morning pours pure water into the libation cup and readies the libation bowl.

Unveil & Morning:  (Singing together) Isis is the wisdom that is given in the Boat of the Morning. Isis is the wisdom that is given in the Boat of the Night. Isis is the wisdom that is given in the Boat of the Morning. Isis is the wisdom that is given in the Boat of the Night. Isis, Isis, Isis. (Repeating until they feel attuned to the Goddess through Her image.)

P Unveiling: A spark from the Heart of Isis resides within this sacred image of the Goddess.

P Morning: We honor that spark from the Heart of the Goddess as we honor Isis Herself.

Priest/ess of Unveiling steps before the image and slowly makes the gesture of Opening the Shrine (the curtain-opening gesture).

P Unveiling:  (Vibrating softly) ISIS.

P Unveiling: Awaken, O Isis Within, to this beautiful day. Be welcomed into morning!

Priest/esses unveil the image. Priest/ess of Unveiling places incense on the charcoal, then elevates it toward the image.

P Unveiling: May Your eyes be opened to the beauty of the day. May Your nostrils be opened to the sweet scent of this spice. May Your ears be opened to the voices of Thy children.

Priest/ess of the Morning elevates libation cup toward the image, then pours it into a larger bowl.

P Morning: May Your lips be opened to the sweetness of this cool water. May Your heart be opened to Your people this day. May Your body, O image of Isis, be opened to the beautiful energy of Isis the Goddess, Ever-Living.

Unveiling & Morning:  (Together; speaking for Isis) I am that Golden morning that arises and shines each day. Splendid are the ornaments upon My brilliant brow. I am the One Who glows in the Sun. I am the Eye of Awakening. I am the Greening of the Earth. I am the Joy of the Day. (Addressing Goddess) Awaken in joy, Isis, awaken in joy. Amma, Iset.
