I’ve just returned from a trip to Rome and Pompeii…and woohoo…will I have photos to show you. I have now seen, in the flesh as it were, three of the greatest images of Isis from ancient Rome and southern Italy in existence and the Temple of Isis in Pompeii as well. By the way, the Temple of Isis in Pompeii was one of the best-preserved of the buildings in Pompeii.

It was quite the trip. We were overwhelmed with the sheer volume of ancient material that is there. More on all this to come in future posts.
